America has been going to the beach for hundreds of years.  Whether it is the lake side, ocean side or even the pond side (LOL) the beach is the place to be.  It just so happens that even in the early 1900's the beach was a favorite past time.  Spending a hot summer day hanging out alongside a large body of water is the absolute best way to spend your time.
