As a avid collector of vintage items Throwback Thursday is an excellent excuse to browse and show of my favorite finds of the day.

While football had been progressing towards a professional sport since 1896, on this day in 1920, Professional Football was moved toward the spectator sport that we all know and love today.  A group of owners of four Ohio Leagues met to create a professional league that will eventually be known as the American Professional Football Association.  (information from
