By the time my children were old enough to be interested in pumpkins the trend to decorate and pain pumpkins had started. While we would carve the pumpkins together they would lose interest after awhile because I was not about to turn over the knife to them. But I could turn over the paintbrush. I can remember that while they were really small the end product was a green pumpkin. No matter what color or design they started with they would add so many colors that in the end it was a solid swirly muddy green (actually I think there Easter eggs that year were the same shade.)
I will always cherish my memories of green pumpkins and my little goblins.
