I had always wanted to be a cartoonist but sadly that is a talent I was not blessed with. So instead of being the artist in the family I married one :) next best thing. I was a teen in the 80's and just like my elders I feel that decade was the best one in history. I miss President Reagan, the Huxtables (and not knowing what I know now,) the real Muppets and Jim Hensen. But I also miss Bloom County in the Sunday Comics.

In the 80's I couldn't wait to catch up with my Sunday Cartoonists. The artists that had created Kathy, Far Side, Hagar, Family Circle, Garfield and many more graced the colorful folds of the local news paper. Sunday was the only day we could just sit back, enjoy a relaxing morning and laugh. I honestly have not picked up a Sunday (or Saturday) comics more than a few times over the last 10 years. The Cartoonists are just not the same while a few have lingered there are not enough of my favorites to catch my attention.
