People Are Good; Laughter Is The Best Medicine

On Sunday I post funny things I find online.  I do this because as the burdens of the week mount it feels so good to just laugh.  Laugh uncontrollable until tears fall from my eyes and miraculously the weight on my shoulders is lightened.

Unfortunately for all of us this weight is becoming heavier and heavier.  Our bosses are asking more from us, our kids are battling  evils we never even knew existed in our childhood and we are watching the future leaders of our country behaving so immorally that it is amazing that either one is standing there.

I have often said that the way to control society is through chaos.  If there is so much chaos in our own lives we won't notice laws being passed that completely steel our freedoms and the evils of our politics.

When people are in chaos, they are so focused on their own misery that they are numbed to atrocities happening to others.  They justify why it happened to those people so they can somehow reassure themselves that they are superior and it won't happen to them.  They didn't believe in the right god, they didn't raise their kids right, they lived in sin... Reality is most of it could happen to anyone.  One mistake, one wrong turn, an angry word, an impulsive misstep and it can happen.  We all know it.

Right now society's fire is being flamed by a combination of our human nature and the acts of master manipulators.  I do not watch the news as much as I used to because it tells you what to believe about our wold.  It doesn't report facts; it selects specific facts to support their agenda and reports only that.  This simple act of selective reporting is skewing our reality and the belief of an entire population.

I'm done with my long winded rant, right or wrong, it is my opinion and no one needs to agree with me.  But I am more determined today; we need to proclaim good, report acts of kindness and love, and we need to put fear, hate, and any other negative emotion in its place.  There is no room for it here.

Philippians 4:8 - Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life (are) in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Matthew 12:36 - But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.
