Postcard Memories - Night Scenes and Moonlight

Some of my favorite postcards are night scene postcards.  I was first introduced to this style of postcard in a group of stunningly colored Linen postcard.  As most will know the linen texture and material of the cards soaked up the inks and making those colors deep and exaggerated.  OF course I love them!  However now I have found several night scenes that predate the Linen era and I am amazed at how well these early moonlit cards turned out.

Most often these images are taken during the day and post processed to give it the appearance of night.  So you can imagine the work that would be involved utilizing old printing and photograph technology.

I now have quite a collection and many listed at  PostcardsInTheAttic on HipPostcards
