On The Move Again - Palm Springs Here We Come

This is my last week as a Fresnonian (or something like that.)  Soon the Hubby and me will be off to start another adventure in Palm Springs.  It was a sort of heated (103 degrees to be exact) love at first sight when I visited Palm Springs last and I am very excited to start my new life there.

The palm lined streets and older architecture reminds me of days gone by when the Rat Pack still swaggered and Marilyn was pouting on every cover.  I absolutely adore towns with rich history and character. Towns I heard about growing up and seen on the one television station I was able to get as a child.  This is one of those towns where I can remember seeing postcards of the amazing pools and palms and telling my mother "I want to go there someday."

I am so excited about getting this opportunity to actually live in a town I spent so much time gazing at the colortech images of.  I am sure I will be snapping lots of pictures to share with you but in the meantime here are some I found on my favorite place to shop, Etsy:

Home Sweet Home...Central CA We Have Survived and Arrived!!

So we spent last Friday morning finishing packing up and headed out the door.  I was pretty confident that "I Got This" when we pulled away with our 26 foot long U haul...but after we added an additional trailer I started to wonder...
I was OK with this (drove a truck before)

Drove with a trailer before (OK)

<><>
But never drove both together before.....Yikes!!!  7 parking spaces long and have to go down a mountain
So Thank the Lord my husband, Terry, decided to take on the challenge.  And for any of his family and friends that would never believe he would drive a 26' Uhaul and trailer down a mountain...He did and did it well (Since I'm typing you know I made it alive)

So Goodbye Mountain...
Going....

Going....

Going....

1 Gone .... A few more mountains to go...

Goodbye
Terry also drove through Sacramento like a pro.  I am so proud:)
We had to stop in Ripon Cal and took a short pit stop; it was wonderful to see the palms again and feel the warm air.

Very nice place, great staff and reasonable rates:)

We hit the road again early Saturday morning, my turn to drive but we made it to Fresno in one piece.

We have landed and are very happy to be back; now we just need to unpack and set up again.  What an adventure:)  One that I hope to never have to do again.

I can't wait to visit Yosemite again...

The Butterfly Is Officially Moving Tomorrow

I have the truck loaded, the keys turned in and will be hitting the road tomorrow for the new chapter in my life.  I am absolutely excited about this new adventure but unfortunately I have been a little preoccupied as of late and unable to post a whole lot.  But with the change there are some good business things that have come about and I think that all of us can look forward to.

I have decided to add a little more structure to my blog and offer featured shops, a day dedicated to postcards (my love,) I will continue with Aromatherapy Thursday and offer some other fun regular posts to my readers.  So please bare with me while I get relocated and unpacked because I promise the fun has just begun.
Thanks friends...See you Soon!

On The Road Again...

...I just can't wait to get on the road again.  I really don't care much for country music but that song has been stuck in my head all morning.  But on the upside thanks to the repeat on  YouTube videos I was able to change it to Ozzy's "Mama I'm Coming Home."  Much Better!!

I seriously cannot wait to hit the pavement and on my way home to the sunny part of California.  I truly have missed my palm trees and the sun; 7 days and counting!

Since traveling is on my mind and I know that many of you will be hitting the pavement right now as we speak and during tomorrow's wonderful holiday; here's one for the road.  May all of you and your loved ones have a safe and pleasant journey.

Saturday Procrastination & Packing Mayhem

This wonderful vintage book can be found on ETSY shop Bountiful Books at
http://www.etsy.com/shop/BountifulBooks?ref=pr_shop
So I am up early typing instead of packing. I know its called procrastination. I look around and just want to say WTF was I thinking? Is there enough boxes in this world to help me move?
The caption of this wonderful painting is "Once Again" which is so very fitting for how I feel today.
You can find this great painting in ETSY shop Jacques Audet Painter at http://www.etsy.com/shop/audetpainter?ref=seller_info
I can't wait though, I am so extremely excited about returning to the warmth and palms of the California I love. Don't get me wrong, the mountains are BEAUTIFUL, but I am truly, beyond a doubt, a city girl. Even the site of Mayberry or Little House On The Prairie makes me cringe. I...must...have...shopping...malls!!!
This gorgeous print is from ETSY shop Quite Bright at
 http://www.etsy.com/shop/quitebright?ref=seller_info
Plus I must not have a blood preasure or something because I need a jacket even when it is 70 degrees out. So alas I will stop messing around and start putting things in my boxes. Especially since I can hear my husband waking up and if he sees me here I might be in a box!!! LOL
ETSY HAS EVERYTHING!!!! Even a girl in the box, lol.  This great piece of art was found in ETSY Shop King Happy Creation at
http://www.etsy.com/shop/KingHappyCreations?ref=seller_info
He knows I am overwhelmed but for some reason doesn't have any sympathy. He was mumbling something about "Hoarders" last night. So I will see you later.
This very fitting item can be found in ETSY shop J Randall at
