A selection of some favorite funnies.  Back in the day when comics in the newspaper was a daily or maybe weekly staple.  Now we have such easy access to information and entertainment we forget that when these postcards were created it maybe the only humor someone saw for the week.

Got A Cold on Laughter Is The Best Medicine

I had a wonderful trip back to the Midwest last week to visit my lovely in-laws.  But on the way home not only was both flights delayed several hours but we sat next to a guy coughing and blowing snot all over the place.  In this day and age I can't believe that anyone doesn't know that they are going to make others sick if they don't cover their face. :(  Guess what souvenir I have from the trip?!  Sigh... At least it is just a cold.

Happiness on Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Changing Laughter is the Best Medicine slightly.  I have a devotional book that I use every morning and one of the themes is Joy vs Happiness.  While many think of them as one there is a difference.  Christians can be joyful even when things are not going well, but happiness is more related to human emotion.  While these moments  are more of earthly things they are still blessings from God and should never be taken for granted.  God did not design us to be in a constant state of misery.

So instead of just looking for things that will make us start our week laughing, I am going to include anything that can start it out with a smile and positive outlook.

Before I start the funnies, this morning I read a FB post from a very dear school friend that had me thinking.  She is struggling with her failures, mistakes, the pain she perceives she caused others, etc.  I think most of us can related with those low moments since to regret is to be human.

I bring this up because I am the queen of beating myself up and one of my goals this year is to shed the chains of regret and to focus on the future.  It is so easy to say but so awfully hard to do but I have to.  I have to so I can have peace, so I have a future and so I can lead by example.  We can't change the past, we need to own our past and if there is something we did wrong ask for forgiveness but then let it go. 

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  This passage is telling us that God is going to take those mistakes, take those wrongs and work them for our good.   And not only our good but good for others that are believers.  Yes, we are stupid but it doesn't matter, God has our backs.  

Peace be with you my friends, sweet peace that can only be achieved by believing we are forgiven.
