Tuesday's Postcard Fun Fact:
Hold To The Light cards are one of the rarest novelty cards. These amazing creations started to surface in the late 1800s to very early 1900s. There are several types of Hold To The Light cards, one of the main techniques were to die cut portions of the top layer and sandwich a transparent tissue paper or film between this layer and the back so when the card is held to a strong light it appears to light up and adds color. But they could be as complicated as hidden pictures or colors that were only visible when held to the light. Since these cards are rare they are, of course, priced accordingly and can fetch $35 and up depending on condition and details.
I have no hold to the light cards in my collection :'( so I will show a couple from my fellow Etsians
