Ronald Reagan on Throwback Thursday

With the 2016 elections just around the corner we are starting to become bombarded with the campaign messages that we all are accustom to.  Yesterday on the news there was a 5 second clip about some items belonging to Ronald Reagan; it was so fast that I didn't catch the entire thing but the what stood out was the nostalgia it conjured.  The Reagan presidency wasn't perfect by all means but it was a period in time when many people sincerely felt pride in their country, the economy wasn't too bad, and our international relationships had been moving in the right direction.

This Throwback Thursday will be a solute to one of my favorite presidents, Ronald Reagan.  Reagan, born February 6, 1911, was our 40th president leading our country from 1981 - 1989.  He was a Republican that before his presidency served as California's governor for 8 years.  For me he will always be the cowboy that rode in and tore down the Berlin wall.  Growing up in the error of the cold war and a nurtured fear of communism, the Reagan era is the only period in my life when I really felt safe.  You may want to call it ignorance of youth but I do think overall the 80's was a really great decade.
