Members Of The Pacific Postcards Team - Series 83

Welcome to the Pacific Postcards Team Meet and Greet.  We have a great team that had start simply as an Etsy Team but has branched out into Artfire, G+FacebookTwitter and Pinterest.  We would love for you to join are team and help promote New Artistically designed or reproduced postcards, collecting vintage and antique postcards, creating digital art, and anything to do with ephemera and vintage imagery.

First I would like to introduce myself, Colleen (Captain) and Frances (Leader) of the team:

"First a brief little introduction: I grew up a Midwest farm girl from Wisconsin but through a series of moments of self discovery I have since moved to California and live the city life in the Palm Springs area.  I live in a lovely contemporary home where my husband and I have designed a small but very beautiful Japanese Garden.

Unfortunately, though, the contemporary look does not blend with my passion for vintage and antique Victorian froufrou.  So I have created for myself a virtual world with my shops.  I welcome you to my attic filled with all the treasures found and creations made especially for you..." ~Colleen Cornelius

"I create mixed media, collage, folk art, religious icons, jewelry with a twist, paintings & digital art. Frida Kahlo has long been my muse and some of my art is inspired by her colorful life and paintings. I also enjoy dressing up in costume for any occasion but especially for Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos celebrations and of course as Frida.

Hunting for treasures at flea markets, thrift stores and antique shops is also a favorite past time and I often incorporate these objects into my art..." ~Frances Perea

"Bonjour
My name is Laurette. My mother is French and my father is English.I have always lived with a foot in each country. My passion for old objects dates as long as I can remember, when I was a child I had my own museum - a collection of fossils, coins old clay pipes and various objects that people would donate to me knowing that I would be pleased with their presents. I would display these items carefully on cotton wool in wooden and tin boxes and charge my family and friends of the family 2p entrance fee! I love to find vintage objects, for me they have a beauty to them that new things lack. Come in and have a look around my shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/VintageDecorFrancais I hope you will enjoy my finds.

I also have a Vintage shop where I sell vintage Scandinavian objects called VintageDanish. Pop over and have a visit.https://www.etsy.com/shop/VintageDanish?ref=si_shop

I make jewelry from upcycled material you can view and purchase items over in my Etsy shop called Becycle https://www.etsy.com/shop/becycle?ref=si_shop" ~VintageDecorFrancais

"I have always been connected to art in some way as long as I remember. I was asked in second grade by my teacher to draw a realistic picture of the nativity for my elementary school play. I crocheted doll baby booties for myself and my friends at school on recess. I also started sewing clothing for myself in third grade. I began oil painting lessons at about this same period of time. I married and began my family at an early age. In my years of parenting I had some opportunities to continue my artwork. My interests changed to refinishing antique furniture, decorating my home, and being a big "do it yourselfer".

About ten years ago I developed painful arthritis in my spine and muscle pain. I at that point had started a pillow cover business on an auction website. I was forced to stop my sewing business and I had several very difficult years trying to find a job I could physically do without painful consequences. I was introduced to vintage and antique postcards and other art prints. I learned how to use software that helps me bring back life to these beautiful and fun works of art. I have always been enjoyed decorative magnets. I started making magnets as a fun an inexpensive way to buy and display artwork.

Dachshunds are faithful and loving dogs. I have been narrowing down my interest from an assortment of subjects to concentrating mainly on dachshund artwork. I find many enthusiastic Doxie lovers. I enjoy spending time on the computer restoring and enhancing these images of the past. I am always pleased when I see the finished product from my work." ~ArtMagnet

"I come from a long line of creative people and I enjoy breathing new life in old items. It is something that I feel passionate about and hope to share with others. Uncle Jimmy was a collector of a variety of unique items. He was my inspiration. He owned an antique store outside of Boston years ago. I love the discovery of his items and finding out the history of each piece." ~Laura
