Freaky Funny Friday - TGIF Let's Just Have Fun! - April 13, 2012

Happy Friday the 13th!  I love Friday the 13th, others may not, but for me its like a mini holiday and breaks up the monotony of the normal routine.

Growing up we did not have a TV for much of my childhood, so often I would sneak down to my Grandfather's house on the weekend and spy some cartoons.  I am not sure if that is why I love love love the original Looney Toons Show so much or if I would have anyway even if I didn't have to have stealth and cat like moves to sneak out of the house and down the driveway to see them.

I still love them today and since it is raining cats and dogs out here I may just sit back a watch a few today.  But because it is the 13th I thought I would share with you one of my all-time-absolute FAVORITES:

I really wish they would just rerun the old cartoons and forget about remaking them, I love the "old fashioned" inappropriateness much better than the new inappropriateness that the FCC has blessed.

Of course I figure why not through some treasuries in today featuring some of my favorite items, that if my husband would let me buy I would.  But for some reason he thinks a women in her 40s should not be addicted to cartoons.  So I do what any grown woman with an addiction does.... Get up at 2 am and watch cartoons while he sleeps ;)

Also have a very great Friday the 13th

The Muppets Are Back In Town! ~All is well

Growing up in the 70's and 80's was an amazing time.  I was smack dab in the middle of many significant changes in history and culture.  I was around to see a boom time, one that many of us would look back on with nostalgia and longing.  The collapse of the Berlin wall, the end of the cold war, the country's financial stability and more important the world was introduced to the Muppets.

While many of us long for the security we felt when the country was thriving financially and politically we can't go back in time or resurrect the past.  But what we can do is watch reruns and make sequels.  Maybe that is why I am so gravitated to these cute little puppets.  Not only do they bring cute antics and fun entertainment but they carry with them a memory of better times, comforting me and letting me know that yes they are still here.  Kermit hasn't forgotten me and look he brought Miss Piggy...
This amazing handfelted art was created and found in ETSY shop Woolington Lane at http://www.etsy.com/shop/WoolingtonLane?ref=seller_info
...OR maybe it is 2:30 am and I really need to look at getting more sleep at night.  I am not sure which it is but what I do know is that Muppets were great and it is nice to see an old familiar face.
