Just thought I should mention this - this has never happened to me before. It is sort of Funny at first - or maybe not so funny - but twitter.com and etsy.com are down for my area in Southern California right now - I get this message: "twitter.com’s server DNS address could not be found." - same for etsy.com. I've re-loaded my browser twice and it is still down. It was working at the early hours this morning - after midnight I mean, as I was online then (up late doing things online). I found this online for today: http://gizmodo.com/this-is-probably-why-half-the-internet-shut-down-today-1788062835 - which has an outage map. Hootsuite also says it is down. So-o-o -- I will be checking repeatedly all day - and will post and schedule the tweets when it is back up. Apparently it is something called a DDoS attack as in this quote from that gizmodo link: "This was happening as hackers unleashed a large distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack on the servers of Dyn, a major DNS host." Don't know what a DDoS attack is -- hope it gets fixed fast, but I will definitely get everything done on Twitter when I can access it.
For info - I can get Google things (obviously as I am on this blog) and bonanza.com is up and so is other sites - so it is apparently related to the sites listed at that gizmodo article that are on "DNS" for serving.
Oh, by the way - Pinterest is down as part of this also for same DNS server reason.
Will post when I can access twitter.com and hopefully Hootsuite will work again for twitter (Hootsuite works for Facebook - I checked) and I can post everything on twitter.

I just thought I would mention something else - some may have wondered - if I can't access Etsy, how did I have the link to post my Etsy item in the linkup above.
Well - I have offline records of things. Being an accountant by trade, I always think of having records of things offline - and off the computer - for my own legal records. I have paper notebooks of my inventory of all my online listings ... and I had my tweets for today's Twitter Tree done last night with, of course, the link in it and I have a Notepad offline file with all my Twitter Tree tweets in it ... before the DNS server outage happened today.
And since blogspot is working, I can still promote on my own blog - and if someone really wants something, they can still email me about buying privately.
Glad that I kept my records of my online listings and tweets offline - and some off the computer!!
Been checking - after re-loading my Internet Service and my browser, twitter.com and etsy.com are still down as of now.
I wish I could participate and tried to a couple of hours ago but with the big outage I obviously can't! Will try again later.
Just checked again - after working on my blog - and twitter.com and etsy.com are working here where I am in Southern CA. Hootsuite can now pick up twitter api and I will be doing the Twitter Tree now!

That "outage" was kind of wierd - I'm not sure what a "DDoS attack" is, but it sure cut off some areas from major websites!

Heard about the DDoS attack this morning on NPR. Was glad that everything was working earlier this morning because when I tried to get back on twitter around 11:15, it was all messed up. Just now got back to tweet and schedule Ruth. Find that Pinterest is still acting funky but finally got everyone pinned.
