Less than one week for Christmas sales can you believe it?  I can't and really would have liked to have done a bit better this year.  But since my shops are my second income there is just only so much time I can invest.  But my little brain is already working on my New Year Business plans.  

I typically don't make New Years Resolutions but I do make set plans for what I will differently next year and become very resolute on sticking with my plan.  By  mid summer some of that wears off BUT!  I feel it 2015 is my year :)

Flashback Thursday; Life In America - The 1980's

The 1980's was my era, I'm a Gen X'r !  Born 1970 my strongest memories is of the 80's and just like most people I remember it all with rose colored glasses.  It was a generation of big hair (no one had a good hair style... NO ONE!) Self expression by printing it onto your Tee Shirt, and MTV.

Collecting Memories

Family traditions are very important to my husband, Terry, and I, especially at Christmas.  One of our favorite traditions is to take a trip on the Polar Express (the train from Elgin to Chicago) to see the Christmas lights and Macy's Windows in Chicago.

Every year Terry and I return to the Frozen Tundra to see our family and the lights.  Nothing feels more like Christmas than frostbite and ice roads (lol just kidding.)  But as much as I hate the cold our love for this tradition is strong enough to endure what every the Windy City has to throw at us:)

When blogging I love to add pictures;  "A picture says a thousand words" but unfortunately when it comes to search engine crawlers it says NOTHING!  Unless you use a Text and Alt Txt option or are savvy with html code.  I use the easiest option and title my photograph using text that is searchable by a search engine crawler.

To add a text to your photo click on it and select "properties" click in the Text and Alt Txt box and type in the title of your photograph.  Also make your file names specific before uploading your picture:
20141130_181301.jpg is not searchable
Chicago.jpg is searchable but not specific enough
Chicago-Christmas-Union-Station-2014.jpg is much better

Keep this in mind when uploading pictures to other medias that rely on web crawlers.
