New Members Of The Pacific Postcards Team - Series 56

Welcome to the Pacific Postcards Team Meet and Greet.  We have a great team that had start simply as an Etsy Team but has branched out into Artfire, G+, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.  We would love for you to join are team and help promote New Artistically designed or reproduced postcards, collecting vintage and antique postcards, creating digital art, and anything to do with ephemera and vintage imagery.

First I would like to introduce myself, Colleen (Captain) and Frances (Leader) of the team:

"First a brief little introduction: I grew up a Midwest farm girl from Wisconsin but through a series of moments of self discovery I have since moved to California and live the city life in Palm Springs.  I live in a beautiful contemporary home where my husband and I have designed a small but very beautiful Japanese Garden.

Unfortunately, though, the contemporary look does not blend with my passion for vintage and antique Victorian froufrou.  So I have created for myself a virtual world with my shops.  I welcome you to my attic filled with all the treasures found and creations made especially for you..." ~Colleen Cornelius

"I create mixed media, collage, folk art, religious icons, jewelry with a twist, paintings & digital art. Frida Kahlo has long been my muse and some of my art is inspired by her colorful life and paintings. I also enjoy dressing up in costume for any occasion but especially for Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muertos celebrations and of course as Frida.

Hunting for treasures at flea markets, thrift stores and antique shops is also a favorite past time and I often incorporate these objects into my art..." ~Frances Perea

"Welcome to my little shop. I'm a Mum of 2 grown up daughters and 2 naughty Chihuahua's. I've been living in Suffolk, England for the past 27 years and have been painting and crafting for most of that time. I've had a go at most types of crafts and love painting and decoupaging furniture. I was on the local craft circuit for many years until arthritis stopped me in my tracks. I now do gentler crafts, and also love collecting postcards and ephemera from times gone by. I love reading the backs of the postcards with messages written to loved ones over a hundred years ago.

My brain is always thinking of the next project, and I have numerous craft boxes filled with various buttons, bows, ribbons, feathers, papers etc. And I think t must have the most tolerant husband in the world. He never moans when there's only a square foot of worktop to prepare a meal in the kitchen, and he now accepts that around Christmas time it's not unusual for every meal to be dusted with a fine coating of glitter.

Have a look around my shop. I'm adding to it on a weekly basis, I hope you enjoy browsing around my crafts and postcard collections." ~ Sheila Roper

"What can be better than unearthing a long-forgotten treasure, holding it up to the light, learning its history -- and making it available for the next person to enjoy?
New life for old treasures -- that's the thing.

My taste is eclectic. I love things with character and a little wear, things that tell a story or offer a glimpse of a moment in time. Old photos, postcards, books and magazines (especially the ads!) are wonderful for that. I particularly enjoy small things that I can hold in my hand and wonder who else held it in their hand. I love humble things, workaday tools, everyday items from by-gone eras. Show me the patina.

I am also on Etsy as lisepyles, as owner of SavvyCoffer, where I sell handmade items made by myself and my daughter-in-law. I hope you'll stop by!
